私は4年ほど前のある日、お家のダイニングテーブルに敷く素敵なテーブルランナーを探していました。
なかなかちょうど良いものが見つからず、あるサイトで見つけた帯を購入し、
ちょうど良いサイズにカットしてテーブルランナーにして飾ったところ、あっという間にゴージャスで素敵な食卓に早替わり！
それからというもの、素敵な帯を見つけては、テーブルランナーやクッションカバーなどをいくつも作ってサイトに載せるようになりました。
それを買ってくれた方々に、とても素敵！と喜んでもらえたのでやみつきになってしまいました。
もうタンスにしまいっぱなしになって使われることのない帯を、いろいろなインテリアグッズに生まれ変わらせたら
日々の生活で楽しめるのでは？こんなに素敵な日本の伝統を、海外の人のお家にお届けできたら？などと考えて、
今まで一生懸命、そして一つひとつ丁寧に手作りして、帯を生まれ変わらせてきたのです。
気がつくとお手伝いしてくれるメンバーも徐々に増えて、今では5人体制でやっています。
これからも、日本の伝統美が凝縮されたような素敵な帯を使って、たくさんの人に喜んでもらえるよう、
また世界中の人たちに、日本の文化を楽しんでいただけるよう、頑張って作っていきますので、どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。
I am Nakao Mimiko, the representative of MIMIKOHOME.
One day about four years ago, I was looking for a nice table runner to put on my dining table at home.
I couldn’t find anything suitable, so I bought an obi that I found on a website, cut it to the right size, and used it as a table runner. In no time, the dining table was transformed into a gorgeous and beautiful one!
Since then, I have been making table runners and cushion covers for each beautiful obi I find and posting them on the website.
I became addicted to them because the people who bought them were so happy and said how nice they were.
I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to use the obi that are now stored away in the dresser and never used in various interior items in daily life? What if I could deliver such a wonderful Japanese tradition to the homes of people overseas? With these thoughts in mind, I have been working hard and carefully handcrafting each obi to give new life to them.
Before I knew it, the number of members who helped me gradually increased, and now we have a team of five people.
We will continue to work hard to make beautiful obi that embody the traditional beauty of Japan, so that many people can be happy and people all over the world can enjoy Japanese culture. Thank you for your continued support.
